Ammar Eloueini Lecture- Rachel Marie Dala

Ammar Eloueini lecture, "Digital Recall" focused on design and fabrications seen in architecture and. He mainly discussed the techniques he used to create his designs and the type of material he used for each specific project. For example, Eloueini clearly took advantage of new technology used in field of art, specifically 3D printing. He also documented his projects with an "AEDS index", a graph which measures the quantity and type of materials used in a specific project. The main materials seen in Eloueni's work is polycarbonate and chipboard. After listening to Eloeini's lecture I learned that the designers and architects usually think of the type of materials used in space towards the end of the project. However, Eloueini informs others that can be creative with any material with the use different lighting techniques, As a result, I lshould that I should take advantage of technology and look into 3d printing.Eloueini also made me realize that there are many materials which can be used architecturally to emphasis a design. For example, layers of translucent materials lit with an LED lighting system can drastically change the mood of that specific building. As a designer, I will take advantage of of technology, open my mind in using different materials to create my form.
